Cruising and Racing on the Salish Sea

The Pender Islands Yacht Club promotes and organizes cruising and racing for interested boat owners. It assists members in obtaining information, advice, and practical help in building, maintaining, and operating boats. The PIYC sponsors and supports junior sailing. It works to promote good seamanship.
PIYC meet-ups are held the second Monday of the month, from November to April at 5:00 PM at the Bistro at Port Browning Pub & Marina on North Pender Island. Yearly fees are currently $70, payable by January 1st of the calendar year, at a club meeting, by mail to the club treasurer, or drop off at the PIYC folder at the Dockside Realty office.
The Pender Islands Yacht Club is for power boaters and sailors. At the present time the ratio of power boaters to sailors in the club is about 50:50.

Browning Fun Day

Roy Moore

Arrive at Port Browning, either by boat, dingy, kayak, paddle board, inner tube, car, ... assembling on Ken & Anne-Marie's dock, frollicking fun in the sun 🤞 and a late afternoon BBQ.

Big boats can either grab a mooring, anchor or raft up on Ken & Anne-Marie's dock for the night.

Friday, the Bistro is open for breakfast from 8-11am - or bring your own, and then we cruise over in what ever craft you desire, to the winery on Saturna for wine tasting and lunch - which is apparently wonderful.  They have a 115 ft dock and 5 mooring buoys that they are willing to reserve for us. They also offered a discount per head on lunch if we reserve ahead of time.  Roy is kindly organizing this part of the adventure. He will send out another email shortly for all who are interested to respond to.

Chemainus Theatre Cruise

John & Pat

John & Pat will welcome you to Thetis when you arrive on Tuesday, then have dinner in the pub there.  Wednesday is lunch and then the play: 9 to 5 the Musical based on the seminal 1980 hit movie, at the Chemainus Theatre which starts at 2pm.  If the group is 10 or more, there is a discount on lunch and tickets. $56 per person for the theatre or $100 per person for lunch and the theatre. All raving reviews about the buffet lunch. John can book you into the marina - just let him know how many nights you want to stay.

Montague

Fiona

Close out the season without the crowds at Montague Harbour.  Chef Doug and Fiona will be hosting this one. Probably some kind of  magic cook out the first night - and the infamous musical bus ride to  the Hummingbird pub for dinner the second night. And always the best  tacos and margaritas at Crane & Robin in the marina for lunches.  Mooring  buoys and gov't. dock near the camp ground are on a first come basis  this time of year so no reservations necessary unless you want to be in  the marina.
